Travis Galen Grimmer, 82 passed away peacefully on June 3rd, 2013 in the comfort of his home in Napa California. He was born in Marshall Texas, on August 14, 1930 to Travis Lane and Lenora Grimmer. He was brought up from humble beginnings and quit high school to join the USAF to make a better life for himself. As a young G.I. stationed at Travis AFB , he took courses to complete his college degree while in the military and held two jobs for many years to provide the best for his family. In 1954, Travis married Antonia (Toni) Sciambra in Vallejo and in 1956 started their family. They moved to Napa in 1960 and became early parishioners of St. Apollinaris Catholic Church. After his service in the military, he remained at Travis AFB for 36 years and retired in 1986. Travis was a huge sports fan all his life, many times watching a game on TV while listening to another on the radio. He enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, restoring antique radios and taking his family to the lake every summer for vacation. For over 40 years, Travis was a member of Knights of Columbus. Travis was predeceased by his loving wife of 37 years, Antonia in 1992. In 1993, he married Rose Callaway and had the opportunity to travel the world. They enjoyed cruises and also travel by RV. Travis is survived by his son Steve Grimmer (Joann), daughter Karen Grimmer Lucia (Jeff) and only grandson Adam Price (Stephanie). He is survived by his sister Nelrene Holt and brother James Grimmer, and predeceased by his sister Lurlene Watson. Travis is survived by his wife Rose Grimmer of Yountville, and his step children, Kate, Carolyn and Dan Calaway. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Napa Valley, especially the loving care of his nurse, Ida Spencer aid Joice Bryan and his physician of many years, James Cotter MD of Kaiser Permanente.
