June 16, 1954 - June 15, 2015
Surrounded by family, Mary Beth Rose passed away at the Queen of the Valley Hospital on June 15. She was a day away from becoming 61 years old. The fourth of five children, “Beth” was born to John and Frances Robinson on June 16, 1954. She was a long-term Napa resident who graduated from Napa High School in 1972. At 14-years old, Beth met the love of her life, Don Rose, who she married on October 13, 1972. Beth made a difference in the lives of many. She had a sweet soul and would drop what she was doing to help a family member or friend at a moment's notice. She treasured her kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews and cousins and generously served as a foster parent to countless children. She volunteered for the local 4-H club, where she taught kids about raising animals, arts and crafts, and cooking. From a young age, Beth loved to sing and play the piano. She led the children’s choir at Calvary Baptist Church, staging numerous musicals and sang with the Napa Valley Choral. For many years and up to the time of her illness a few months ago, she regularly played the piano for veterans at the Veterans Home Chapel. We will remember her warmth, hearty laugh, persistent cheer, relentless compassion, as well as her incredible homemade beef jerky. Beth is survived by her husband of 42 years, Don Rose; Her three children: Sara Rose, Trevor Rose and Kelly Rose-Heier; Her grandchildren: Franchesca Rios, Alanzo Rios and Lily Heier; Her mother: Frances Robinson; Her mother in-law: Grace Elsea; Her siblings: Mike Robinson (Kathy), Pat Robinson (Eloise), Steve Robinson and Nancy Nunley (Brian); Her siblings in-law: Laura, Robert and Gary Rose; Her chosen children: Nick Rose, Gabe Contreras, Bianca Contreras and John Anaya (Jessica). Her father, John Robinson, preceded her in death. A memorial service to celebrate Beth's life will be held on Monday, June 29 at 6 p.m. at the CrossWalk Community Church in Napa. Her nephew Eric Rose will officiate. Please join us for a reception following the memorial.
