Juan Aguilera

September 7, 1952 - February 27, 2016

Juan Aguilera was called to his father suddenly on Saturday February 27. Juanito, or Chuco as most people called him, was a kind soul who touched every heart he came in contact with. His kind spirit and infectious smile could cheer anyone up. He enjoyed being surrounded by his family especially all his nieces and nephews. One of his favorite things was helping with the babies of the families and you would often find him with a baby in a baby carrier or pushing them around the neighborhood in a stroller, but be careful if you even thought about picking on one of them because he was ready to defend them to no end. He would spend countless hours on the basketball court practicing his shots for when any one of the neighborhood kids asked for challenge, he would be ready. He loved to always have cash in his wallet and a coke in hand.Turn on some music and you would find him singing and dancing. There was not much that brought him down. While he may not be present with us physically his spirit will always remind us that life is about each moment and always living it with a smile and giving lots of love. He was preceded in death by his parents Rafael and Lupe Aguilera as well as a sister, Lola Aguilera and a brother Antonio Aguilera. He is survived by one sister Maria (Federico) Carrillo of Calistoga, and by five brothers, Isaias (Luz) Aguilera, Francisco (Reina) Aguilera of Napa, Ramiro (Aurora) Aguilera of St. Helena, Samuel (Cristina) Aguilera of Sonoma, and Rafael (Alejandra) Aguilera of Rutherford. He also leaves 20 nieces and nephew as well as 17 great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Claffey and Rota Funeral Home on Thursday, March 4, 2016 from 1:00 to 9:00pm. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in St. Helena on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 11:00am.
