Irma Lee DeVita died October 21, 2017 in Napa. She was born August 8, 1927 in Columbus, Georgia to Charles A. and Pearlie Mae Russell. Irma played guitar and steel guitar, painted landscapes, knitted blankets and made ceramics. She loved fishing and camping trips in her motor home. She was the first person to purchase a women’s Harley Davidson motorcycle in Napa. Irma worked at Payless Drugs when she first arrived in Napa. After attending Napa Valley College she was an oral surgery assistant for Dr. Andrews. To keep busy in her retirement she worked in the cafeteria at Napa Valley College. Mrs. DeVita is survived by her children Margaret Ann Rogers and John Michael (Stella) Tinsley; her siblings Gerald Russell and Edna Carleen Creadick, grandchildren Debra (Vineet) Gupta, Lisa (Ronnie) Pedro, Trinity Marion, Jeremy (Christie) Rogers, Kevin Tinsley and Tracey (Shannon) Thompson; niece Lora Freitas and nephew Wayne Creadick; 18 great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren and three great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles A. Russell and Pearlie Mae Russell; husband Reno G. DeVita; grandson David Krewson and nephew David Russell. A funeral service will be held at Claffey and Rota funeral home on Friday, November 3, 2017 ay 2:00 pm. Burial at Tulocay Cemetery will follow. Donations in her memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, American Diabetes Association or the Heart Disease Foundation.
