David Milner Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

David Milner, 37, of Napa died on Wednesday, June 12, 2013. Raised in North Stonington, CT, David graduated from St. Bernard High School, Uncasville, CT, and received his BA from St. Anselm College, Manchester, NH in 1998. For the past 15 years, David fully enjoyed living in the Napa Valley. He was employed by Downtown Joe’s, the Perfect Puree, State Farm Insurance and Napa Valley Limousine Services. A natural athlete, David loved biking, kayaking, archery, tennis, swimming, sport fishing, hiking, and was an avid golfer. He excelled as a team player in basketball, soccer, and baseball. Always ready for adventure, he traveled extensively in the US, Europe and the Pacific Islands. He loved gathering with friends and was known for preparing delicious creations of his own, grilling anything to perfection, or arriving with the best fresh local breads and desserts. David’s generous and engaging personality and ease of conversation with all he met turned acquaintances into friends everywhere he went. He was a loyal friend to a tight core of high school and college friends, golfing buddies and coworkers. David is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Aleta (Lee) Milner of Surprise, AZ; sister Karen and brother-in-law Richard DeShon of Williamston, MI; grandmother Mabel Savino of Wausau, WI; uncles and aunts Carol Milner of Killeen, TX, Ronald Savino and Dan Neverett of Carson City, NV and Mark and Maria Savino of Wausau, WI; cousin Christopher Brindley of Killeen, TX; nephews Ezekiel (Zeke) and Isaac DeShon of Williamston, MI. He was predeceased by grandparents Earl and Marguerite Milner of Milwaukee, WI and Frank Savino of Wausau, WI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s memory to Saint Anselm College (100 Saint Anselm Drive, Box 1738 Manchester, NH 03102, or www.anselm.edu/giving with "in Memory of Dave Milner" in the comments box). Family and friends will celebrate Dave’s life at a public funeral service at 2:00 pm, Friday, June 21, at Claffey and Rota Funeral Home, 1975 Main St., Napa, CA. Friends are also welcome at the reception to follow at Embassy Suites, 1075 California Blvd., Napa.
