Dolores Anne Anderson (Briare) 6/4/1933 – 3/28/2016 Dolores passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday March 28. Dolores was a proud 4th generation native San Franciscan, born to John J. and Gertrude Briare. A devout Catholic with a giant smile, Dolores never met a stranger. She attended San Francisco Catholic Elementary Schools and graduated from Presentation H.S. class of ‘51. She married Ralph P. Anderson Jr. (deceased 11/19/2014) August 3, 1957 and they shared 57 years together raising 8 children. Dolores and her family made their home in Novato, CA from 1967 until 1996. During her time there she was a volunteer with Birthright and Marin Social Services. When she was not volunteering you could see her at one of her children’s sporting or musical events, or selling raffle tickets for many a good cause. Her passion was taking care of several families’ children through her young years as a homemaker. She was well known for baking her chocolate chip cookies and sharing them with everyone. Dolores and Ralph enjoyed their retirement years at their home in the Napa Yacht Club community. Dolores enjoyed being a part of the Napa Welcome Wagon and volunteering at the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop. She and Ralph enjoyed traveling, one of their favorite places being Hawaii. Dolores was an avid, serious bridge player who played in many groups and delighted in the friendships she made. Dolores is survived by her 8 children and 9 grandchildren…Ralph Peter III (Anne) of Sonoma, CA, John (Mary) of Reno, their sons Joel and Jordan (Marisha), Jim of Desert Hot Springs, CA, Lynn of San Francisco CA, David (Karen) of Castle Pines, CO daughter Emma, Vince (Consuelo) of San Mateo, CA Kevin (Kelly) of Petaluma CA, children Ryan, Megan, Mallory and Liz Arnold (Doug) of Novato, CA children Daniel, Reagan, and Shawn. She is also survived by her sister Helen Joan Johns (Leland deceased) and Maryelisabeth Briare. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother John (Jack) Briare. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 9th at 1pm at St. Apollinaris Catholic Church, Napa. Private Interment. In honor of Dolores’s approach to life, please wear vibrant colors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the following: Hospice of Petaluma, or St. Apollinaris Building Fund. She will be missed by many but always loved.
