Constance Elizabeth (Werle) Polsgrove

Connie passed away on 11/13/2016 after a lengthy illness. She was born on November 7, 1932 in St. Helena, CA., to Conrad and Christine Werle. She graduated from St. Helena High School in 1950 and went to work for PG&E after graduation. She met DeeLewis Polsgrove while he was stationed at Travis AFB, CA and they were married on May 13, 1956 in the St. Helena Catholic Church. They were stationed in Texas, Arizona, California and Turkey during Dee’s service in the Air Force. After retirement they settled back in Napa, CA in 1972. After Dee’s retirement they took numerous trips to Kentucky to visit relatives traveling through different areas of the United States visiting the sites. They also enjoyed frequent trips to Reno, Nevada and attending and cheering on their grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sports games and events. She is survived by her three children, Melissa (Gary) Mathison, Dennis Polsgrove, and Brian (Gina) Polsgrove; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, Denise (Rolando) Aguilar, Joseph, Jordan, Jessica and Jayden; Heather (Jose) Avalos, Jose Jr., Ian and Bianca; Christina (Robert) Brewer and Rhyanne; Nicole (BJ) Pieratt, Aidan and Nadia; Tiffany Mathison; Danielle Graham; Shannon (Matt) Keith, Austin and Gillian; Robert Polsgrove; Scott (Melissa) Polsgrove; her brother Michael Werle, Julie, David and Meika, her brother-in-law Bob Gallagher, Robert (Sherri) Gallagher, Katherine and Jacob. Brother in law and sister in law Danny & Jennie Polsgrove and nieces Erin (Mike) Brangers and Jessica (Adam) Mitchell all of Kentucky. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years Dee in 2011 and sister Marcella Gallagher in 2015. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. at St. Helena Catholic Church, 1340 Tainter St., in St. Helena. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in St. Helena. Reception will be at the American Legion Hall at 1291 Madrone Ave. in St. Helena immediately following the burial. The Rosary will be held on Thursday evening, Nov. 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Claffey and Rota Funeral Home, 1975 Main St., in Napa.
