The goods and services described below are those Claffey and Rota Funeral Home and services can provide to our customers.  You may choose only the items you desire.  However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead.  If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected.  An additional clerical fee may be added for deaths occurring outside the city of Napa.

This list does not include prices for certain items that you may ask us to buy for you, such as cemetery or crematory services, flowers, hairdresser and newspaper notices.  The prices for those items will be shown on your bill or the statement describing the general goods and services you selected.

Payment Methods

Payment in Full is expected by the date of services or final disposition.  However we realize that funeral expenses may create a financial burden for some families.  To assist in easing this burden, Claffey and Rota Funeral Home accepts Visa, Master Card or a 50% down payment with 10% monthly payments on approval of credit.

Estate Fee

We will gladly file a claim with the estate of the deceased, but since estates commonly take 6 months to 1 year to settle, a 10% Estate Fee will be charged.

Prior to drafting any contract for goods or services, the responsible party of the decedent’s survivor who is handling the funeral arrangements is entitled to receive a copy of any preneed agreement in the possession of the funeral establishment that has been signed and paid for, in full or in part, by or on behalf of the decedent.

Services of Funeral Director and Staff:

This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select.  (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains.)  It includes a proportionate share of the taxes, licenses, utilities and business expenses required to serve the public.  Our charge includes, but is not limited to, 24 hour availability, consultation with the family, administrative and clerical services, preparation of the death certificate for certification by the attending physician or coroner, necessary permits, filing the death certificate with the appropriate government agencies, consultation with clergy, cemetery, crematory or common carrier, assistance with union or insurance papers, planning the funeral or memorial service, placement of obituary notices, direction and supervision of the services and/or other disposition options as determined by the family.  sales tax, certified copies of death certificates and burial permits are not included in any price.
